Another Year Older
Well it seems another birthday has come and gone. I really do not feel physically older but boy mentally knowing I am one year closer to 40 is having a big impact. I guess the thinking I'm going through is about how much, when I was even 20 I had expected for my life at age 40. Here I am now, only 4 years away and my life is absolutely nothing like what I had thought it would be. I have not accomplished near enough. I think it's a good time to sit down and determine what I still need to do to get where I want to be.
Spent my birthday doing 2 new photoshoots and then spent the rest of the day with m fabulous family. Of coarse, we followed tradition and I was taken to Maxamillian's for dinner. Even after 31 years of eating there it is still my absolute favourite restaurant. Then we came back to our house and had cake. I wa fabulous! Here are some pics of us celebrating.

Lesson 1 Digi In Deeper
For my birthday my mom gave me the next class in the series of Jessica Sprague digital scrapbooking classes. There are 4 of them all together starting from beginner going to advanced. I took class #2 Now We're Rockin' With Photoshop and loved it and learned lots of photoshop shortcuts. Then I took class #3 Digi In Deep and loved it as well but found it much more challenging. I had never before spent so long on individual layouts before. So now, I have just completed lesson 1 of the 3rd class Digi In Deeper. Still loving the class format but boy was this lesson ever challenging. So in depth, so much detail, so much focus. I can see learning many new things through this new class for sure.
Here is the lesson #1 class sample layout:
Here os the page I created for lesson #1:

Annual Fall Hike
Every year since the girls were babies I have taken pictures of them with the fall leaves on Thanksgiving weekend. It became a tradition to take pictures in the forest at mom & dad's place. I wanted to continue the tradition again this year, and was somewhat saddened that we could not go on our usual walk in mom & dad's forest. Emily had a great idea though, there is the path in the forest that we always drive by that Emily has seen for the longest time and has always wondered where it went. So we got bundled up and grabbed the camera and went hiking in the woods. It was fantastic! The colors were beautiful, the air was cool and crip, we were spending quality time together as a family, and it was fun exploring. The kids enjoyed it so much they have asked if we can keep walking there. Here are some of my favorite pictures I took of the girls on our hike.
