My 10 year old Emily has really gotten into watching Cake Boss lately. She loves it - so much so that she asked her dad if she could learn how to decorate cakes. He has a friend who owns a cake decor centre so Emily was allowed to go and spend some time with her where she told Em all about cake decorating and let Emily practice with the icing tips on a cookie sheet. Emily has made these cakes so far all by herself. i am so proud of her.

This past weekend I tagged along with the girls and their dad when they went into the city. We went skating on the canal. Well the kids skated, I walked. We went about 8 km in total and boy was I ever wiped when we were finished. We had hot chocolate and Beavertails, and Emily had maple syrup on snow. It was a lot of fun. After the canal we went to Red Lobster and then to see the movie Journey 2: Mysterious Island in Imax 3D. Fantastic movie! I had a wonderful day out of the house. One that made me question why it is I never go out of the house more often. Have some thinking to do on that.

One of my favorite things this week is this snapshot I took of the girls before school the other day. Love the impish grin on Emily's face (that was after making faces in every other shot I took and she was told to look nice). Love love love the look on Amber's face as she peeks at her sister. You can totally see the love she has for her sister on her face. She has such a good heart.Pin It Now!
For my Team Up With Kyla this week we chose the theme of food. Kyla's photo is the chicken salad on the top and mine is the sugar cookies on the bottom. Love how we always come up with totally different takes on our themes. this is always so fun to do. You can visit Kyla over on her blog The Kreative Life.Pin It Now!
