Muchness Meets Photography 30 Day Challenge

Seeing the beauty and joy around you can sometimes be nothing more than habit. When we go through hard times, devastating losses or just hit a rough patch, we get into the habit of only seeing the bad. We carry with us the negativity and it tends to colour everything we see with it’s murkiness and yuck. Taking the 30 Day Challenge literally forces us to put on our rose coloured glasses and See The Muchness- see the colour, see the bright spots in our days, despite the darkness that may surround it. And when we change our habit, we change our perspective. By the end of 30 days you will feel different. You will feel lighter, you will feel more in touch with what makes you, you. What makes you smile. What makes you feel whole. What puts you In Touch with The Much!®

On the Finding My Muchness Website, Tova talks about two kinds of muchness:
  • The first are the organic moments that just happen – your baby covered herself in mashed potatoes, a beautiful sunset behind an abandoned old warehouse, the view of your family on a walk, all holding hand; things which simply made you stop and smile and give thanks for the things you have in this world.
  • The second type are MUCHNESS moments that are ‘manufactured.’ Sequins and high heels on a random Tuesday, baking a cake and decorating it with edible glitter, just so you can photograph it, an otherwise pointless picture of yourself making a silly face.
I plan on trying to pay attention and document the moments that just happen. For those moments are the ones that are truly precious. I am also going to challenge myself to find my muchness in feeling good about myself. In order to do that I am challenging myself to walk every day for 30 days for at least a half hour.

Is what you're living for ...

Someone on my friends list on Facebook shared this photo and question. As soon as I saw it, I knew that I wanted to create an art journaling page inspired by it. Really got me thinking this morning.

And with the first day of school around the corner we are finally getting back on track.

I have had an incredible summer with the girls. It has been so busy, so full of happy memories and over so quickly. I can't believe it's over already, feels like it had just begun.

The thing I like about back to school after a summer as busy as our was, is the ability to get back to routines and daily life. I like routine. I like knowing what to expect. I am not a fan of surprises. Getting back on our regular school time schedule I think will cause me to be able to relax a bit more. To be able to settle back into being home and continuing with our average routines will just help create a sense of peace around our home.

Looking forwards to fall with the girls.

Motivation

Made these quick pages tonight trying to get some motivation to do some scrapping. Have been so busy have had hardly any time to create anything all summer, now I feel as if I have nothing driving that creative process. Just have to get back into the habit of creating daily. Have a few challenges I am working on in September to get me motivated once again, and next week we are back to our normal routine so there will be time to nurture that creative process. Can't wait.

Anyways, here's those quickpages:

Getting inked in memory of my Daddy

Ever since my Dad passed away in June 2011 I have wanted to get a tattoo in his honour. I knew I wanted something with angel wings and then I found this image with the angel wings and cancer ribbon attached. I chose to go with the light blue ribbon to represent prostate cancer. Added the words in loving Memory and I was all set.

Miss Emily decided that it would be fun to come along and watch as her momma got her new tattoo. She was so good and so patient. She was also my photographer which is great. So here's some pics of me getting inked in memory of my Daddy.
